The former Adelaide United star will be back in Australia next season after the Hunter Stadium club sealed a deal to borrow him from his K-League outfit
The Newcastle Jets have boosted their playing stocks by securing the services of Nathan Burns for the first half of the upcoming A-League season on loan from Korean outfit Incheon United.
Burns, who has previously represented Greek outfits AEK Athens and Kerkyra, will be available to play for the Jets up until Round 14 before being required to return to Incheon as part of the deal.
The 25-year-old was excited about the prospect of returning to the A-League, the competition where he began his professional career with Adelaide United in 2006.
"Newcastle is a big club with good support and I'm really looking forward to playing in front of the fans," Burns said.
"I really want to get back playing and get back into a good team environment and I think Newcastle has that.
"They have some fantastic experience and very good young players so I look forward to fitting in with them and helping the team win.
"The club showed a lot of interest in me from the start and when you get that commitment and that level of interest it kind of inspires you to go there."
Burns played 31 matches for the Reds before being snapped up by AEK where he spent five seasons from 2008-2012, including his loan spell to Kerkyra.
The winger then moved to Incheon at the beginning of last year.
