thumbnail Hello,

The Canaries have already added Luciano Becchio to their forward line on transfer deadline day and the Bhoys manager insists that their hopes of poaching his star man are over

Celtic manager Neil Lennon claims that his side have not received a new bid from Norwich City for Gary Hooper and insists that the striker is not for sale.

Reports had suggested that the Canaries had made a new approach for the striker worth upwards of £9 million but the Bhoys boss denied those stories, reiterating his stance that the Englishman will be staying at Celtic Park.

"Contrary to reports there have been no fresh bids for Gary and even if there are they will be rejected..he is NOT for sale," Lennon posted on Twitter.

The Premier League side have had multiple bids for the 25-year-old rejected, with Lennon stating that although they had no set price for the striker, all offers they had received "were well short" of what they expected.

Hooper has just 18 months left to run on his current deal at Parkhead and has been offered a new extended contract but the player remains reluctant to commit himself to the club long-term.

Norwich completed the signings of Leeds striker Luciano Becchio and Sporting Kansas City's Kei Kamara earlier on transfer deadline day.
