Milan CEO Adriano Galliani revealed earlier this week that the Rossoneri are interested in signing the attacking midfielder, with Empoli's director of sport Marcello Carli even claiming that a deal to take Saponara to San Siro at the end of the season is already in place.
"The transfer is not yet official, but it would be amazing if it goes ahead," Saponara told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I never thought that I would be able to achieve something like this. For me, Milan represent football. Kaka used to be my idol.
"I feel ready to make the step up. I just have to stay focused and try and do as well as possible for Empoli [over] the next six months."
The 21-year-old is co-owned by Empoli and Parma, with the latter keeping their 50 per cent of the player's rights.
