The World Cup winner has great confidence in his side's ability to score goals, and admits it will be a nice reward for his side to be crowned winter champions on SundayLaurent Blanc says that the driving force behind Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 title charge is their prolific attack.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani have been in excellent form all season, contributing 26 goals between them as they look to fire the capital club to a second successive championship triumph.
And though the latter is a doubt for Sunday's clash with Lille, Blanc takes great comfort from the fact that he has a plethora of attacking options available to him.
"My team is capable of scoring a lot of goals. We have the players to do it and it's also our philosophy," the 48-year-old coach told reporters.
"Cavani returned to Uruguay after Wednesday's game against Saint-Etienne. I don't know if he will be back in time for Sunday's match.
"We need to be strong to score against Lille. Like every team that visits the Parc des Princes, Lille will try to cause us problems."
The French champions have the opportunity to go five points clear at the summit of the Ligue 1 standings with a victory, after title rivals Monaco lost 2-1 at home to Valenciennes on Friday, but Blanc is not reading too much into the fact that PSG will definitely be top at Christmas.
"Being crowned autumnal champions is merely symbolic," he reasoned. "But it will still be a nice reward for our first half of the season."
