The 46-year-old coach was furious that some supporters launched smoke bombs, flares and missiles during the 3-1 victory over rivals Schalke

Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has condemned the shameful actions carried out by a small group of the club's fans during the Revierderby on Saturday.

Despite Dortmund beating local rivals Schalke 3-1, the victory was overshadowed by the behaviour of some fans that launched smoke bombs, flares and missiles which caused delays.

Klopp, 46, took to a post-match press conference to condemn the display his side's supporters had shown.

"In a moment you are ashamed of these images," he said to RuhrNachrichten.

Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfieler acknowledged that the match had been an emotional and fiery affair but that the aggressive behaviour from fans was not warranted.

"I'm not afraid of our fans," he said after the game.

"Emotions belong to the derby but the aggression has got to go. I call on our fans to behave next time."

Despite the scenes during Saturday's match, Dortmund remain in second place on 25 points, level with Bayer Leverkusen, who won 2-1 against Augsburg, and are a point adrift of league leaders Bayern Munich after their 3-2 win over Hertha Berlin.
