Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Real Madrid will not take any unnecessary risks with new signing Gareth Bale and added that he has yet to make a final decision on whether the Welshman will feature from the start in Tuesday's Champions League encounter against Galatasaray.
The former Tottenham winger made his official debut for the club in last weekend's 2-2 La Liga draw against Villarreal, but it is unsure whether he will take part in the match versus the Turkish champions.
"We should be careful with Bale and we’ll make a decision on whether he will play on Tuesday," Ancelotti told reporters.
"He hasn’t had any issues after his debut, but we should think before putting him on the pitch.
"He can play in every attacking position behind the forward."
Ancelotti also had his say on Cristiano Ronaldo's contract renewal and hopes that his new and improved deal will give the Portugal international a boost.
"Cristiano Ronaldo will be more motivated because of it. I hope that his performance is the same as in past years.
"It’s great news for Madridistas because Real Madrid will have the most important player in the world for years to come. The goal is to play well, win and improve the quality of the game."
