Cruyff: Ancelotti the right man for Madrid

The Dutchman is confident that the 54-year-old has what it takes to succeed at the Bernabeu and has taken the time to praise Isco and Gareth Bale
Netherlands icon Johan Cruyff feels Real Madrid have made the right decision to appoint former Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti as their new head coach following the departure of Jose Mourinho.

The Italian trainer signed a three-year deal with the Santiago Bernabeu side earlier this week and the Barelona legend has little doubt that the former Chelsea manager will succeed at his new club.

"Ancelotti will be a breath of fresh air. Real Madrid have great players, they just need to play like a team. Ancelotti will make that happen,” Cruyff told Marca.

“He has played and coached at the very top, so he knows full well what goes on in the dressing room."

The Dutchman then went on to discuss the imminent arrival of Isco at Madrid, who will be presented to the press next week after passing his medical.

“I already had a very high opinion of Isco from his performances at Malaga and what he did at the Under-21 Euros only added to that," he continued.

“He has ability, but he'll face stiff competition at Real Madrid because there are a lot of other players in his position.”

Cruyff was also questioned about the potential arrival of Gareth Bale and he had nothing but praise for the Tottenham star.

“I'm a big fan of him as a player. He would be joining from England, where the style of football is different, but he has bags of talent.”

The Welshman is being heavily linked with a move to Madrid, but Spurs are determined to hold on to their star player.
