Wernbloom: Every CSKA game is like a final

The Swede says results are more important than performances as the Moscow giants look to win the title for the first time since 2006
Pontus Wernbloom believes CSKA Moscow are on track to win the Russian Premier League title but stressed that every game is like a final to his side.

The capital club currently sit three points clear of Zenit St Petersburg in the table with three games to play but the Swedish midfielder feels they can finish the job.

"For us, every one of the remaining matches is just like a final," the 26-year-old told the club's press service.

"We have dropped points in recent matches but are still determined to finish this season on top of the table.

"The champions Zenit are chasing us. They're a very strong outfit but we're strong as well. We have no right to slip-up.

"But I believe we have enough power and spirit to win the title. The battle for the title is going at full swing but this was easy to predict."

The Swede scored the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win against Terek Grozny but says the result was more important than the performance.

"Any individual record is nothing if compared to the team's achievement. We are all set to finish this season in high spirits," he added.

"The team have played quality football this season and the chemistry in the dressing room is really good. All we need is just to come into every of the remaining matches at full concentration and responsibility."
