The France coach hailed the midfielder's battling qualities on the back of his display on Wednesday evening
Matuidi has won plaudits for his strong midfield displays this season and the 44-year-old France coach has praised his compatriot after watching him help his side through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with a 3-2 aggregate win over Valencia.
"He is so committed in everything he does,” the former World Cup Winner told Bein Sport. “At one point when he went to the ground it gave me chills."Matuidi has made 39 appearances for PSG, who are currently leading the way in Ligue 1 and are now through to the quarter finals of the Champions League and Coupe de France.
He has also featured in all of France's World Cup 2014 qualifiers and Deschamps will be hoping he can maintain his current form when les Bleus face Georgia on March 22.
