Prandelli impressed by Cerci's Torino impact
The 55-year-old was in attendance to see the Italian score for Torino on Sunday, while the winger has revealed the pressure of playing in front of the national side's boss
Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has acknowledged the contribution of Torino winger Alessio Cerci this season. The 55-year-old watched on from the stands as Cerci opened the scoring in the Granata's 2-1 win over Atalanta on Sunday.
And the former Fiorentina coach singled out the 25-year-old for special praise.
"Cerci is having a great season," he told Tuttosport. "Against Atalanta, I really enjoyed not only his goal, but also his movement off the ball."
And the former Roma youth claimed to have noticed the presence of Prandelli, and has admitted to feeling the pressure of performing in front of the coach of the Italian national team.
"I saw Prandelli in the stands, who I hope came especially for me. It felt like he looked at me with a magnifying glass, yet Angelo Ogbonna wasn't bad either," he told reporters.
The midfielder also revealed he thrives under the pressure put on him by Torino coach Giampiero Ventura.
He added: "Do I like being put under pressure by Ventura? Yes, it's good, I like it that way."
