Former Colombia goalkeeper Miguel Calero passes away at the age of 41

The ex-Pachuca shot-stopper was pronounced dead in hospital, just over a year after being forced to retire from football due to venous thrombosis in his left arm
Former Colombia goalkeeper Miguel Calero passed away on Tuesday in Mexico City, a day after being declared brain dead.Calero had been hospitalised since November 26, due to thrombosis in his arm causing a blood clot to reach his brain, which forced the ex-player to be put onto life support.
Club Pachuca, the 41-year-old's former team who he won three titles with, released a statement to the press regarding Calero's death.
"Grupo Pachuca deeply regret reporting here that on the day December 4 2012, the biggest symbol of Tuzos, Miguel Angel Calero Rodriguez, has passed away.
"Miguel Calero was a football player who left his mark on a great era in the history of Club Pachuca.
"We would like to thank everyone for showing love, support and solidarity towards him and his family."
