Zidane: Ibrahimovic an extraordinary player

The legendary Frenchman had nothing but praise for the PSG star following his four-goal haul against England, and feels France's national side are on the right track
Zinedine Zidane has praised Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the wake of the striker's impressive performance for Sweden in their 4-2 friendly win over England on Wednesday.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker netted all four of his side's goals to send the Three Lions home empty-handed, and his fine display has not gone unnoticed elsewhere.

"Ibrahimovic is an extraordinary player. I never managed to score four goals in a game," Zidane was quoted as saying on the official Fifa website.

"It really was a magnificent performance. His overhead kick in particular was spectacular."

The former Real Madrid playmaker then went on to discuss France's 2-1 friendly win over Italy on Wednesday, and voiced his belief that les Bleus are moving in the right direction.

"They did the job. After [drawing against] Spain they confirmed that they are on the right track. It is not easy to win in Italy - I know that after difficult confrontations with Italy."

France's next game is against Germany at Stade de France on February 6 2013.
