The Catalan club have made an impressive start to the 2012-13 campaign and currently sit top of the table with 31 points from 11 games, holding an eight-point lead over the reigning champions.
"Barcelona are on the right track. Normally the biggest rival is Madrid, who are eight points behind, so there's a comfortable gap," Cruyff said to reporters.
"Barca have everything in their favour to win the league title, in the sense that La Liga is Barcelona's to lose."
The Dutchman then went on to praise Lionel Messi after the Argentine broke Pele's record of 75 goals in one calendar year.
"Messi is sensational," Cruyff continued. "Pele's record stood for many years. He has a lot of quality, scores goals and wins the people's affection.
"He is the best ever in his position and he proves it, but I don´t think we should talk about it all that much."
Messi has already netted 15 goals in 11 La Liga appearances this season.
