Rene Girard's men are currently 14th in the league table, whilst PSG are at the summit, but the Italian boss reiterated that a difficult game lies ahead.
"It is true that Montpellier had to deal with a lot of problems at the start of this season. However, it is going to be a complicated game as they are playing better now and getting better results," Ancelotti told reporters.
"We are playing better as well and after the defeat at Saint-Etienne we want to bounce back with a win."
The former Chelsea boss went on to praise the tactical acumen of Montpellier coach Rene Girard and said that his fellow trainer will make things difficult for him.
"Regarding the football, it is going to be a tough game. I think tactically Girard knows a lot about what we can do. He will set his team up in order to make it difficult for us."
