France coach Didier Deschamps says Hugo Lloris' lack of playing time for his club "is not good for him".
The goalkeeper has made five appearances for Tottenham since his arrival in August, but only one of those has come in the Premier League, and Deschamps can understand the frustration the 25-year-old must be feeling.
"He hasn't had enough playing time and I can see why it would not be good for him," he told reporters at a press conference.
"His situation is hard and not ideal. To be on the on the bench the following weekend after the game he played for us in Spain is not easy.
"It is one game per week, mostly in the Europa League. If he plays tonight it will be his third game since the last international match. He cannot get any consistency with this few games."
Despite not having many chances to impress for his new club, the former Olympique Lyonnais man has been named in Deschamps' squad for France's friendly against Italy on Wednesday.
