Di Natale left out of Genoa clash after bust-up with Guidolin
The Udinese coach has confirmed rumours that he had a row with the striker, which has resulted in the player being dropped for their match on Sunday
Francesco Guidolin has confirmed that Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale will play no part in the clash with Genoa on Sunday following a training ground bust-up between the pair.Rumours began to circulate on Friday of an alleged confrontation between player and coach and Guidolin confirmed that an incident had taken place.
“There was a disagreement and tomorrow [Sunday] he will not be taking part in the match. Behaviour is important and the rules must be respected," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The argument has nothing to do with his position on the field, nor the tactical system. Di Natale is a centre-forward in any case."
Although Di Natale will miss the game as a punishment for his outburst, Guidolin also stressed that the matter has now been resolved.
“Di Natale is a good lad. After the argument we cleared the air and our rapport remains solid, strong and positive, just as it did with Maurizio Domizzi last week," he added.
“We have to ensure these disagreements do not affect our performance against Genoa on Sunday."
