Gladbach's Luuk de Jong doubtful for Dortmund clash

The Dutchman sustained a knock in his last outing against Rothosen, and has conceded it could rule him out of the clash against the champions - a club he was previously linked to
Borussia Monchengladbach forward Luuk de Jong has revealed his concern about missing the Borussia Dortmund match after he picked up a minor injury against Hamburg in midweek.

The Foals claimed a 2-2 draw against the visitors courtesy of an injury-time equaliser, but could be without their record summer acquisition when they travel to face holders Dortmund on Saturday.

"I got a nasty kick on my foot against Hamburg," De Jong told Express.

"It hurts a lot. I do not know if I can play against Dortmund."

The former Twente man was linked with a transfer to Dortmund prior to his switch to Monchengladbach, something the striker claims to be unaware of.

He added: "I know nothing [about that].

"It would be a shame if I could not play against Dortmund. It is an experience for any footballer."

Kick-off on Saturday is scheduled for 18:30 CET.
