thumbnail Hello,

The 43-year-old was a firm favourite in his two years at the club and he has refused to rule out a return to the Nerazzurri at some point in the future

Serbia coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has revealed he came close to managing Inter several years ago, while admitting it would be a dream to manage the club in the future.

The 43-year-old spent the final two years of his career with the Nerazzurri and lifted four trophies during that period, in what was a glorious end to his playing days.

"I was close to taking charge of Inter in the past, but then nothing came of it," he told Football Italia.

"It's not a closed chapter though, because Inter are a dream for all coaches."

Mihajlovic also expressed his respect for current Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni, who replaced Claudio Ranieri over the summer, having previously taken charge of the club's youth team.

"He's young, like me," he added.

"But being talented [as manager] is the most important thing, and he did good things with the youth team."
