thumbnail Hello,

The Italy international believes the former Rossoneri star could still make an impact, and is eagerly anticipating the Serie A opener versus Sampdoria

Riccardo Montolivo would welcome Real Madrid midfielder Kaka with open arms if the Brazil international were to return to AC Milan this summer.

The 30-year-old has been continually linked with a return to the Rossoneri, and the former Fiorentina star feels the attacking midfielder is still capable of walking into any side in the world.

"Anybody would want to have Kaka in their team, he's an exceptional player and I think he would be welcomed back," Montolivo stated to Milan Channel.

The Italy international then stressed that Milan are desperate to start the new Serie A season on a high, before adding that he sees Juventus as the team to beat in 2012-13.

"The new season kicks off with Sampdoria at home," he continued. "Samp will definitely come into the game full of enthusiasm after winning promotion to Serie A, but we don't want to set off on the wrong foot. Our aim is to string together a positive run from the beginning.

"I think that champions Juventus start off favourites, but Milan are up there with them, as are Inter, who'll be a title challenger, too."

Milan host Sampdoria on August 25.
