Sammer: Bayern could make more signings
The Bavarians' sporting director has hinted at more summer arrivals as he feels they're currently missing a key element to be considered a 'very good' team

Club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently stated that the Bavarians' transfer market was closed, but the recently-appointed sporting director has made it clear there could still be activity at the Allianz Arena side.
"The team was good in last season’s campaign, and we’re not much short of very good. But perhaps we’re missing that key element," Sammer was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"We will continue to look out for players who can add something positive to the squad. I don’t rule anything out, but we’re not under pressure.
"Further signings are not necessarily essential with the main emphasis being on home-grown potential. We still have good options for improving our game."
Bayern Munich have already secured the services of players such as Dante, Xherdan Shaqiri, Claudio Pizarro, Tom Starke, Mitchell Weiser, Lukas Raeder and Mario Mandzukic.
