South Africa coach will be either Komphela or Igesund

The two men are now the only options left with regards to taking over the Bafana Bafana reigns following the dismissal of Pitso Mosimane a few weeks ago
The race to become the next South Africa coach has become a two-horse one, with Gordon Igesund and Steve Komphela the two men in the running.

According to, South African FA sources reveal that the Moroka Swallows and Free State Stars coaches will make a final presentation to the executive committee on June 30, after which the decision will be made on who succeeds Pitso Mosimane.

Neil Tovey, Shakes Mashaba, Igesund and Gavin Hunt were interviewed last Thursday, while Komphela only met the panel on Monday after leading the national team to a 3-0 win against Gabon on Friday evening.

But it was Igesund and Komphela who impressed most – and it is now one of those two who will become the next Bafana coach.
