Maicon is reportedly trying to force Inter to grant him an early release from his contract with the club so that he can return to his native Brazil.
The Selecao star still has a year to run on his current deal with the Nerazzurri but, according to Lancenet, he has now begun legal proceedings against his employers in the hope of being allowed to leave San Siro this summer.
"I know that Maicon and his agent [Roberto Calenda] are not behaving well," claimed Antonio Calienda of IPC, the promotional company which represents the 30-year-old defender.
"It's a delicate situation - there is an ongoing legal process - and there are millions involved.
"I think that his destination will be Brazil. But I do not know the details, because I have stopped speaking on behalf of Maicon. But it is unclear whether he will remain at Inter or not."
It has been reported that Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the right-back and his agent admitted on Tuesday that his client could be open to "a change of scenery" after six years at Appiano Gentile.
However, the Brazilian news resource claims that if the player secures his release, he will join Cruzeiro.
Since joining Inter from Monaco after the 2006 World Cup, Maicon has established himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in the world.
