Nacional's young defensive star Alexis Rolin has insisted that he would not be distracted by the confirmed interest of Italian clubs Inter and Genoa, after the two institutions both watched the towering centre-back on Sunday.
The 23-year-old, a product of the Bolso academy and a member of the squad that lifted the 2010-11 Primera Division title, could not have asked for a better game to display his talents to the Serie A sides. He netted the first goal of a 2-0 victory over Wanderers, after which Ovacion confirmed that both Italian clubs had sent representatives to watch Rolin in action.
Despite the victory, however, Defensor Sporting's win on the same day meant Nacional cannot pip their Montevideo rivals to the Clausura title.
Speaking after the match in Parque Central, the youngster declared himself happy with his performance while stating that he would not be rushed into any decision ahead of the end of the season.
"Right now I have my mind fixed on enjoying today's triumph, Tuesday's training, the game coming with Liverpool on Sunday and then the finals, which I hope is just one game. I am only thinking of picking up another 'Uruguayo' [Championship] with Nacional," Rolin explained to reporters.
"I have asked my agent 'Boca' [Gerardo Arias] not to talk to me about these things before games, because I do not want to be distracted by anything that isn't playing football."
Having lifted the Apertura title in December 2011, Nacional move on to play Defensor in the final of the Uruguayan Championship at the end of the Clausura campaign.
