Martin and Boudebouz set to leave Sochaux

The Montbeliard-based outfit have been dealt a heavy blow as two of their most influential players have confirmed that they will switch clubs in the summer

Marvin Martin and Ryad Boudebouz have announced that they both intend to leave Sochaux in the summer. The midfield duo confirmed their decisions on Sunday following their club's 1-0 victory over Ligue 1 rivals Marseille.

Martin, 24, has been strongly linked with a move abroad, but fresh speculation in France suggests that he is now closing in on a switch to Lille. However, he was unable to shed any light on his next destination.

"I honestly do not know where I will go," the France international is quoted as saying by AFP. "I really do not know, otherwise I would tell you. And I do not know when I will make my decision.

"My goal was just to leave Sochaux with my head held high and the club still in Ligue 1.

"As for my future, we'll see. There is also selection for the Euros, which is important because I really want to be in the final 23-man squad."

As for Boudebouz, a move to the Premier League has been mooted in recent weeks but he, too, was remaining coy on his future plans.

"It's not a done deal [that he will leave] and I still have a two-year contract, but my wish is to go," the Algeria international confirmed.

Sochaux finished 14th in the Ligue 1 standings, 40 points adrift of champions Montpellier.
