thumbnail Hello,

The Argentina international has excelled since arriving at the Stadio Olimpico on loan from Real Madrid last summer and is now set for a bumper new contract with the Giallorossi

Fernando Gago will reportedly sign a four-year contract with Roma at the end of the season.

The Giallorossi took the Argentina international on loan from Real Madrid at the start of the current campaign with a view to signing the midfielder for a reported fee of just over €6 million this summer.

All that was missing was the agreement of the player but, according to, Gago is now expected to commit himself to Roma until 2016 as part of a deal which will at least treble his current salary of €1.1m.

Gago has made 18 appearances for the capital club this season and has played a key role in the Giallorossi's resurgence under new coach Luis Enrique.
