Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory face off this Saturday at the Allianz Stadium in what promises to be a tantalising clash between two decorated sides.

The Sky Blues maintained their momentum for a top-six finish after a comprehensive 2-0 win over the Central Coast Mariners last Saturday.

Sitting in fifth spot, Sydney FC coach Frank Farina will be urging his troops to settle for nothing less than all three points against Victory as they face back-to-back away games in their final two fixtures of the regular season.

Farina is likely to keep faith with the same team that won last week, although left full-back Fabio will be pushing for recalls to the bench after suspension.

Farina will be tempted to continue the Tiago Calvano-Adam Griffiths partnership that served Sydney FC so well against the Mariners.

Victory, meanwhile, spurned the opportunity to keep the pressure on second-placed Mariners after being held to a 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar last Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou's men, who have only won once in their last five matches, have been dealt with a huge blow this week after learning that in-form left-back Adama Traore will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Diogo Ferreira is the most likely candidate to come into the XI.  He will likely go to right-back, with Scott Galloway to move across to left-back.

Postecoglou will also have to make do without captain Adrian Leijer through, and Marcos Flores to again miss through injury.

With Mark Milligan, Archie Thompson and Marco Rojas all poised to miss the club's next game against Perth Glory due to international duty, Postecoglou will view the Sydney FC game as the chance to inject some much-needed confidence before the play-offs.

Victory will enter the clash in a bullish mood having done the double over Sydney FC so far this season, including a come-from-behind 3-2 at Allianz Stadium back in Week 6.

Midfielder Marco Rojas will be relishing the chance to play the Sky Blues again after terrorizing their back-four and scoring twice in his side's 3-1 win in their most recent encounter.

However, this will be no walk in the park for Victory, as Sydney FC have won six straight matches in their own backyard.
