Gifted Betis the ball far too easily in the build up to the opening goal but there was very little he could do to keep out Perez's stunning strike. He never really inspired confidence in his defence.
Failed to keep up with Pabon as the Colombian opened the scoring in the second minute. However, he continually pushed on to support Tello and defensively he was largely solid.
Proved incapable of being the organiser in defence as Barca once more looked extremely porous. He was poor positionally and was far too eager to get forward, leaving huge spaces in behind.
Playing as a centre-back, the Brazilian was caught out of position inside two minutes as Pabon netted a surprise opener. He eventually gathered himself and made some top-drawer challenges to thwart the Betis attackers.
Pushed on regularly and swung some impressive crosses into the penalty area from the right, one of which created Villa's goal. However, his willingness to get forward did see him leave a lot of space in behind which Betis did well to exploit.
An elegant, classy performance from the midfielder. He displayed brilliant craft as he picked out a number of brilliant passes. A sublime run and cross from the left was headed in by Alexis for Barca's first.
Bossed the midfield with high-quality passing and offered the penetration that may have been missing in recent weeks. He got in behind himself a couple of times and probably should have looked to shoot more often.
Always offered a route back for his team-mates and was a key link between defence and attack. He patrolled the middle effectively and could regularly be found within a close proximity to the ball.
The young winger impressed again as he caused no end of problems down the left with his electric pace. He created plenty of chances for his team-mates and came close to scoring with a thunderous effort that rattled the bar.
Made a great run to nod in his team's equaliser after just nine minutes and consistently got on the ball and looked to test the Betis defenders. Lost the ball in a vital area as Perez added the visitors' second.
Showed some very intelligent movement inside the area but just could not find the back of the net, despite a host of chances. Eventually got his goal in the second half but was immediately substituted afterwards.
The keeper was kept busy for much of the game as Barcelona created dozens of opportunities to find the net. On most occasions he positioned himself brilliantly to make the stop but he had no response for the introduction of Messi.
Had a torrid afternoon as Tello continually beat him for pace in the wide areas. The right-back was beaten time and again by the young winger and had very little response.
The imposing centre-back made some decent interceptions early on but was at times overly physical. He failed to communicate with his keeper and left Villa free to nod in Barca's second of the night.
Read the game well at the heart of the defence and swept up well at the back. He kept a close watch on runners coming through the middle and made some crucial challenges and interceptions.
Created the opening goal with a powerful header back into the danger area, but defensively he was found wanting. He allowed Sanchez to get in front of him to equalise early on and gave the Chilean far too much space.
The Nigerian was incredibly calm in possession and managed to slow the play at the right moments. He was considered on the ball and managed to orchestrate the Betis attack well.
Brought plenty of energy into midfield as he looked to charge forward and offer support on the counterattack whenever possible. He had a deflected effort saved by Pinto and chased the ball consistently in midfield.
Got the slightest of touches on Martinez's header to earn an assist for Pabon. He looked dangerous on the break but was withdrawn at half-time.
Looked to make the most of the space in behind Dani Alves with some positive runs, but his delivery was not always the best. Still, he restricted the amount of time the Brazilian could push on with his opportunistic runs.
The Colombian kept Jordi Alba busy with his running down the right flank. He showed not only his blistering pace but a top level of composure to slot in the opening goal.
Replaced Salva Sevilla on the hour mark but failed to add anything to his side and if anything he left them more vulnerable.
Brought on in place of Molina at half-time and used the ball well. His passing was crisp but he could have done with getting on the ball in more dangerous areas.
Came on in place of Igiebor with 69 minutes played but could not use his pace to worry the Barca defence.
