John Kosmina's side extended their unbeaten run to three games following a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Perth Glory in Week 5, while Heart proved they are a force to be reckoned with after dismantling defending champions Brisbane Roar 4-1.

Adelaide, however, go into the clash full of confidence, having lost just once in six previous meetings against the Heart.

John Aloisi has already warned rival teams there is plenty more to come from his Heart troops, but history suggests another United win is on the cards.

Interest at the selection table surrounds whether Kosmina will opt against a recognised striker for the third time this season.

As was the case against Melbourne Victory in Week 3, Adelaide left Sergio van Dijk and Bruce Djite out of the squad to face Perth in favour of Jeronimo Neumann, Marcelo Carrusca and Dario Vidosic - a front three combination that has scored seven of the Reds' nine goals this season.

Kosmina had hinted at a possible return for van Dijk - given his record of four goals in five appearances against Heart - but the Dutchman again failed to make the matchday squad.

But it is more likely the only change will be Cameron Watson's inclusion at right-back after Daniel Bowles picked up a minor groin injury.

The Heart have not won back-to-back games since February 26, when they beat the now defunct Gold Coast United and Central Coast Mariners in successive weeks. Since then, they have won just two of their past 11 A-League games, including last Friday's demolition of Brisbane.

Instrumental in that victory was Nick Kalmar, who made his first start of the season. The Victorian Premier League product offered an alternative to midfielders Matt Thompson and Richard Garcia with his penetrating runs from box-to-box and passing, but whether he takes to the field from minute one against Adelaide remains to be seen.

Captain Fred, fellow South American Jonatan Germano, Golgol Mebrahtu [all injured] and Young Socceroos duo Ben Garruccio and David Vrankovic continue to miss.  Left-back Aziz Behich, however, should be rushed back after his return from Australia duty.
