Player Ratings: Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 Troyes

Goal.com rates the players on show as Carlo Ancelotti's side romped to a 4-0 win over Troyes at the Parc des Princes.

  • Salvatore Sirigu

    Salvatore Sirigu

The Italian custodian was once more a safe pair of hands as he enjoyed a rather quiet game. Competent when called upon, but Troyes did not offer much of a threat. Throwing ability fantastic, and even lead to the third goal.

  • Thiago Silva

    Thiago Silva

Typically sound defensively, the captain of the side was competent and comfortable at the back, once more.

  • Alex

    Alex

The Brazilian was not as serene as his compatriot, but was more robust in nullifying the threats posed by Bahebeck and Nivet. Did well aerially.

  • Maxwell

    Maxwell

The Brazilian was deployed in midfield this afternoon and did not disappoint, scoring the opening goal. Appeared comfortable throughout and offered an attacking threat.

  • Sylvain Armand

    Sylvain Armand

In the side in his preferred left-back position, the veteran thrived before tailing off as the game wore on. Solid, if not spectacular.

  • Gregory van der Wiel

    Gregory van der Wiel

The right-back was rather ineffectual attacking-wise, but offered a solid run in defence. Kept Troyes’ full-backs at distance.

  • Blaise Matuidi

    Blaise Matuidi

The midfielder has come on leaps and bounds lately, and once more showed he is indispensable. Made the middle of the park his own with great passing, and also scored the second goal in emphatic fashion.

  • Marco Verratti

    Marco Verratti

Ancelotti spoke of his annoyance with the 20-year-old and once more it was easy to see why. Another early booking and rash tackling enabled Troyes to get in control in the midfield. Should’ve been sent off after a rash challenge against Bahebeck, which luckily for him did not result in a penalty. Managed to improve, though, with his passing unsettling the visitors.

  • Javier Pastore

Javier Pastore Flop of the Match

The Argentine was more active in the first half, as he attempted several key passes to instigate opportunities. Booked and then subbed in favour of Nene in the second half. PSG were more creative without him.

  • Ezequiel Lavezzi

    Ezequiel Lavezzi

Unlike in Kiev earlier this week, the former Napoli striker did not find the net this time around, but he was active, constantly pursuing chances. Produced an assist for Ibrahimovic’s fourth, and can generally be content with his performance.

  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Top of the Match

The star of the show, as is often the case in France nowadays. The 31-year-old shrugged off a static first-half to net a double - including his 200th league goal. Linked up well with team-mates, but it is evident that PSG are reliant on him.

Substitutions

  • Christophe Jallet

    Christophe Jallet

Made his return from injury with 18 minutes left to go, but like Rabiot, he was more of a passenger with the game already won. Involved in a few defensive blocks to ensure the clean sheet.

  • Nenê

    Nenê

The Brazilian’s introduction was the reason for the side’s far better showing in the second half. Troyes couldn’t handle his superb passing as he cut open the defence time and again.

  • Adrien Rabiot

    Adrien Rabiot

Came on for Maxwell with 15 minutes to go, but did not contribute greatly.

  • Y. Thuram

    Y. Thuram

The nephew of France legend Lilian Thuram looked decent over the course of 90 minutes. Will be disappointed not to have kept out the opener. Produced a couple of fine stops, but once more could not find an answer to the power of Ibrahimovic.

  • Matthieu Saunier

    Matthieu Saunier

The 22-year-old was efficient early on, but with Nene’s introduction, he was left cruelly exposed, which led to three second-half goals.

  • Rincon

    2.00

    Rincon

Managed to keep Ibrahimovic in check in the first-half, but like his team-mates, was eventually left floundering. Average at best.

  • Maxime Colin

    Maxime Colin

The right-back did not manage the balance of attacking and defending well, as he was left open for large periods. Defending was decent, but couldn’t stop PSG’s counterattacking.

  • Fabrice N'Sakala

    0
    1.50

    Fabrice N'Sakala

N’Sakala could not deal with Lavezzi all evening, as much of the play originated down his flank. A poor showing from a player who was overawed by the occasion.

  • Stéphane Darbion

    2.50

    Stéphane Darbion

The number four couldn’t cope with the brute force of Ibrahimovic for large periods of the game, but was one of the better Troyes players, as he was on the attacking charge regularly.

  • Mounir Obbadi

    2.50

    Mounir Obbadi

The Troyes captain led by example, but like his team-mates, he was outclassed by more esteemed opponents. Defensively, he was sound and got stuck in. Upstaged by Matuidi, however.

  • Benjamin Nivet

    2.50

    Benjamin Nivet

The former Caen man is usually the talisman for Troyes, but he was kept quiet by an efficient defence. Only had a few attempts, none of which troubled Sirigu.

  • Xavier Thiago

    2.50

    Xavier Thiago

The Brazilian was solid in the first half, linking well with Bahebeck in leading the counter, but struggled in the second, leading to his substitution.

  • Fabien Camus

    2.00

    Fabien Camus

The 27-year-old appeared enterprising, but could not match the rigour of the Parisian midfield. Offered something different attacking-wise, but more often than not was not on the same wave-length as his team-mates.

  • Jean-Christophe Bahebeck
    0
    0
    2.50

    Jean-Christophe Bahebeck

The on-loan PSG striker was poor in the first half, as he couldn’t seriously trouble Salvatore Sirigu. Should’ve had a penalty after Verratti challenge, but nonetheless was not on his game.

Substitutions

  • Eloge Enza Yamissi

    Eloge Enza Yamissi

A late cameo for the midfielder, but didn’t have much time to impose himself.

  • Marcos Dos Santos Ferreira

    Marcos Dos Santos Ferreira

Made an entry to solve Troyes’ attacking problems, but aside from a superb bicycle kick which Sirigu tipped over, did not do much else.

  • Mohamed Yattara

    0

    Mohamed Yattara

Replaced Darbion midway through the second half, but could not stop the relentless PSG offensive.
