Taeguk Warriors boss Choi Kang-Hee won a lot of praise following his decision to substitute Koo Ja-Cheol for Kim Shin-Wook early in the second half against Qatar, before the team piled on three further goals to win 4-1. Koo and striker Lee Dong-Gook's combination play flattered to deceive, however Kim is unavailable for this game due to suspension, meaning Choi has a dilemma in attack, particularly with the maligned Park Chu-Young not in the squad. Choi may opt to draft Kim Jung-Woo into the side in place of Koo, while Kim Bo-Kyung continues to impress as Park Ji-Sung's successor.
Cedars coach Theo Bucker, who is already without key attacking duo Roda Antar and Mahmoud El Ali due to injury. has another problem with midfielder Haitham Faour likely to miss this game due to a virus. Hassan Chaito and Mohamed Shamas will battle it out to take his spot in the defensive midfield role alongside Hussein Dakik. Ali Al Saadi, who scored in the 1-1 draw with Uzbekistan, is likely to start again ahead of Ramez Dayoub following his error against Qatar.
| DID YOU KNOW? |
The last time these two sides was in November, when Lebanon produced a shock 2-1 victory over the South Koreans in the third round of qualifying, putting the wheels in motion for Cho Kwang-Rae's sacking in December.
- However, the last time these two sides met in South Korea, the Taeguk Warriors ran out 6-0 winners.
- All four goals in Friday's 4-1 win over Qatar were scored by players from K-League club Ulsan Hyundai; Lee Keun-Ho (two, pictured), Kim Shin-Wook and Kwak Tae-Hwi.
- Lebanon have failed to win one of their past six internationals. During that run, they've suffered four defeats.
- The Cedars are the lowest ranked side remaining in World Cup contention in Asia, sitting 143rd in the world.
- Lebanon rarely play international football outside West Asia, with their last match outside the region being the 6-0 loss to South Korea in September 2011.
