Cameroon return from 2014 World Cup second round qualifying with a heavy heart after losing their last game 2-1 to Libya in Sfax, Tunisia and tumbling from the top of Group I to sit at third position, fuelling criticism from local fans and officials that the team is yet to recover its top form.
Coach Denis Lavagne and his players will endeavour to reassure the public on Saturday in Yaounde while hosting Guinea Bissau in the return leg of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations first round qualifying, and besides, they are conscious of the Indomitable Lions’ lamentable absence from the 2012 Afcon and will toil not to see it happen in South Africa at the next tournament.
Guinea Bissau have never qualified for the finals of an Africa Cup of Nations and seem not quite prepared once more, after losing to Cameroon 1-0 at home in Bissau during the first leg.
Their chances of overturning that result in their favour against the Lions in Yaounde is slim, and perhaps they will resort to giving it their all as they have nothing to lose, which could frustrate the efforts of the home side.
