Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that the trio will join the 16 European-based players for March's Gillette Brasil Global Tour clash with South Africa in JohannesburgBrazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that Fred, Jo and Jefferson will join the 16 European-based players selected for the Selecao's Gillette Brasil Global Tour clash with South Africa in Johannesburg on March 5.
Fluminense striker Fred, who bagged five goals as Brazil claimed the Confederations Cup last year to finish as the tournament's joint-top scorer, returns after injury problems which have seen him absent from the squad since the 1-0 defeat to Switzerland in August.
Atletico Mineiro striker Jo has become a regular under Felipao while Botafogo goalkeeper Jefferson returns after missing November's friendlies against Honduras and Chile.
Scolari, who led Brazil to the 2002 World Cup and returned to the Brazil bench for his second stint in charge in November 2012 following the dismissal of former coach Mano Menezes, revealed earlier this month that he didn't plan using his full allocation of 23 players for match at Soccer City.
"It's a good opportunity to meet the group, our last before the final squad of the World Cup [is decided]," Scolari said in a statement released by Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) on Monday.
"It will be an important test against an African team who recently beat Spain, and a good time to talk to the players and coaching staff on planning for the World Cup."
