Gilette Brasil Global Tour

The 44-year-old has expressed his delight at the opportunity to pit his side against the Selecao and is hoping for an improvement on last year's Olympics Games defeat

South Korea coach Hong Myung-Bo says he is thrilled at the prospect of facing Brazil this weekend as the Selecao arrive in Seoul for the next leg of the Gillette Brasil Global Tour.

The two sides meet at the World Cup stadium in the country’s capital on Saturday where Hong and his charges will be hoping to put last year’s 3-0 Olympic Games defeat firmly behind them.

“It's a very rare and lucky opportunity to play against team like this,” he said. “Brazil is the host nation of the World Cup and will be the team to beat at the tournament so we have to prepare well and try to achieve a good result.

“I have forgotten about defeat against Brazil at the London Olympics. I hope we don't make same mistakes this time. Fewer mistakes means a better performance.”

Forward Ji Dong-Won appeared in that semi final at Old Trafford and the Sunderland man is hoping for a better performance this time around.

“At the London Olympics, I think we played well but it was finishing that proved the difference,” he said.

“The Brazil players seemed to remain calm, but I was not. I don't want to make the same mistake.

“Brazil are a very strong opponent but this is just a friendly and part of our ongoing process ahead of the World Cup. Even if we lose, we have to give a performance that warrants our fans’ applause.”
