Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey has refused to rule out another loan move at the end of the 2014 MLS season.

The USA international, who impressed at the World Cup this summer, became the highest-paid player in the American league when he was signed from Tottenham last year, but spent a brief spell back at his former club Fulham in the off-season.

Although his contract only permitted one temporary winter switch, Dempsey suggested that he is yet to make his mind up whether he will push for a trip to Europe once again in early 2015.

"I’m not saying definitely no, and not saying definitely yes," the American attacker told Goal ahead of starring for an MLS All-Star team in a friendly against Bayern Munich this week.

"The way the contract was structured, I was able to make one loan move during the time that I was here and I’ve already used that up, so it’s one of those situations."

USA are set to host the Copa America Centenario in two years' time, one summer after the 2015 edition which the Concacaf giants will not be involved in, and the 31-year-old is desperate to be involved in the tournament.

“For me, I just hope that I’m part of the plans and I definitely want to push for Copa America for sure because it’s a tournament I’ve never had an opportunity to play in," Dempsey continued.

"I’ve always watched those games. Most of the time it's been in South America but, with it being on American soil in 2016, playing in a competition like that would be pretty awesome.

"Hopefully that’s in the cards for me, but it’s not my decision. I have to work hard and make sure I’m playing well to even get called in and I have to see if I’ll even be a part of the plans.

"Copa America is something that is bigger to me than the 2016 Olympics, just because in the Olympics it’s a situation where you have younger players and the possibility of bringing in a few older players, where Copa America is a chance to play against the best competition in the world between North, Central and South America.

"So I view the Copa America as more prestigious. No disrespect to the Olympics, it’s just the way that the sport is set up for the Olympics."

Dempsey was one of 11 players voted into the MLS All-Star team by league fans and they will come up against Pep Guardiola's Bayern on Thursday at 03:55CET.
