34′

36′ Neymar

58′ Ramires

84′ Luiz Gustavo

Full time in Brazil. The World Cup hosts run out comprehensive 6-0 winners over Australia thanks to a double from Jo, and goals from Neymar, Ramires, Pato, and Luis Gustavo. It was a run of the mill win for the Selecao, but the Socceroos should be massively disappointed with their performance. I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us, see you next time!

88′
The rate at which Australia have lost the ball has been astounding. They couldn't have kept the ball more that three or four passes at a time, and Brazil have won back possession so, so easily.

86′
Australia were probably always expecting to get defeated tonight, but there's no real excuse for their performance tonight. They've been pretty horrendous.

84′
Assist Neymar

84′
Goal Luiz Gustavo
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAL FOR BRAZILLL!! AND THAT'S THE STRIKE OF THE NIGHT!!! Luis Gustavo picks up the ball on the edge of the box and absolutely rifles a left-footed screamer into the top left corner! 6-0!

82′
The Brazilians are just looking to pick off their opposition here with smart passes on the edge of the box. They are just looking for an opening for that killer pass.

80′
Last ten minutes in Brazil here. I don't actually think Australia have had a shot on goal, so probably no chance of a consolation goal for the Aussies watching at Sunday lunchtime.

78′
Substitution Joshua Blake Kennedy Mitchell Duke

78′
This is a case of damage limitations for the Socceroos now. They have been well and truly outclassed and outfought by Brazil here, but they should still strive to make sure the scoreline doesn't get embarrassing.

77′
Substitution Maicon Marcos Rocha

76′
The latest change comes through from Scolari as Marcos comes on to replace Maicon. The Roma man has put in a decent shift tonight, much better than anything we seen at Manchester City.

75′
There are some confident chants coming from the home crowd at the moment as they celebrate each individual pass from Brazil. It's hard to tell whether Brazil have been good tonight or Australia terrible. It's probably a bit of both but I'm leaning towards the latter.

73′
Assist Neymar

73′
Goal Alexandre Pato
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL FOR BRAZIL!!! THAT'S NUMBER FIVE!! Hernanes scoops a delightful ball over the top of the Australia defence for Neymar, who finds Pato at the front post. The former Milan striker confidently flicks the ball towards goal and squeezes it past the keeper. 5-0!

70′
Substitution Brett Holman Tomas Rogic

70′
This will, ofcourse, be a massive season for all Brazilian players. They will all be angling for a place in Scolari's World Cup squad, and there's no better opportunity to impress than in matches like this.

68′
Better defending from Australia this time. Moura whips in a cross from the left-hand side and Pato looks to glance a header towards goal, but he is undone by a powerful header from Lucas Neill.

67′
Substitution Alexandre Pato

67′
Brazil continue to make the changes as Pato comes on for Luis Gustavo. The chance to prove a point for the former Milan man, here.

66′
This is surely all about fitness and the experience for the Aussies now. They have already qualified for the World Cup but look massively behind the level required to make an impact. They've soaked up the Brazilian atmosphere though, so it's not been a fruitless performance.

64′
Substitution Mile Jedinak Mark Daniel Milligan

64′
Australia follow suit suit and make a change of their own as Jedinak comes off to be replaced by Milligan.

62′
Substitution Paulinho Hernanes

62′
Brazil ring out the changes as they make three substitutions. Paulinho, Bernard, and David Luiz are all withdrawn as Dante, Hernanes, and Lucas Moura enter the fray.

61′
Substitution Bernard Lucas

61′
Substitution David Luiz Dante

61′
BRAZIL PROBING FOR MORE GOALS HERE!

60′
BRAZIL HIT THE POST!!! A melee inside the box sees the ball break break to Ramires outside the area and the Chelsea man lashes a strike at goal, but he is denied by the woodwork!

59′
Substitution Thomas Oar Archie Thompson

58′
Assist Maxwell

58′
Goal Ramires

58′
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL FOR BRAZIL!!! 4-0!!! Maxwell receives the ball out wide and clips a lovely cross to the back post, and Ramires is on hand to bullet a header past the helpless Schwarzer!

56′
Ohhhh that's nearly made it's way to Neymar! Bernard hits the byline once again and looks to find the Barca man at the back post, but the ball just evades him by inches and Australia get the throw in.

54′
A bit better from Australia now. Bresciano and Jedinak have finally managed to put their foot on the ball and the visitors are just enjoying a small period of sustained possession at the moment.

52′
It's a bit like a training session for the Selecao at the moment. They are picking the ball up at the back and in midfield and are facing little to no opposition.

50′
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL FOR BRAZIL!!! WAIT! NO! FOUL!! Thiago Silva breaks away to the back post and powers a header into the net, but the referee gives a free kick for a foul on McGowan! That looked very, very harsh!

48′
This may be a case of 'how much?' for Brazil this evening. The Aussies just really aren't looking up for this at all.

46′
Substitution Marcelo Maxwell

46′
We are back under way in Brazil!

Half time in Brazil. The hosts have absolutely battered Australia so far as goals from Jo and Neymar give the Selecao 3-0 lead at the break. Absolutely no sign of a comeback from the Socceroos, who are looking jaded. Join us in 15 minutes for the second half!

45′
It doesn't look as if Marcelo is going to be able to continue here. The Real Madrid man has pulled up with a hamstring injury and will be replaced by Maxwell.

43′
How is that not a corner kick? That ball clearly came off Schwarzer but the Aussies get the goal kick.

42′
Good save from Schwarzer!!! Neymar fortuitously finds himself through on goal and looks to clip the ball over the oncoming Australia 'keeper, who ends up making a decent stop to turn the ball round the post.

40′
Brazil haven't lost on home turf since the seventies, and that record was never looking likely to be broken tonight!

38′
That was a severely damaging two minutes for The Socceroos there! It's nothing they don't deserve to be honest though, they have been pretty shocking.

36′
Assist Ramires

36′
Goal Neymar
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL FOR BRAZIL!!! TWO IN TWO MINUTES!!! Ramires finds Neymar who runs through the centre and confidently pokes the ball past the static Schwarzer into the bottom right corner! 3-0!!!

34′
Assist Bernard

34′
Goal
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLL FOR BRAZIL!!!! Jo earns his second!! Paulinho wins the ball back in midfield and slides Bernard down the right. The new Shakhtar Donetsk man then finds his compatriot inside, who finishes brilliantly from six yards out! 2-0! The hosts are cruising!

32′
It's a pretty big surprise that Brazil are only one goal up here. They have been totally dominant from the get-go and there are no signs at all pointing to a reply from Australia. Having said that, Schwarzer hasn't had too many saves to make.

30′
Australia get a bit of respite as Ramires goes on late on Crystal Palace midfielder, Jedinak. The visitors can rest for a few moments as they have a free kick just outside the centre circle.

28′
Really good save from Schwarzer!! Neymar looks set to take on the defender but finds Paulinho in the overlap. The Spurs man lashes a strike towards the near post but the Chelsea goalkeeper makes a smart save.

26′
A Mexican wave erupts around the stadium as the fans who are present look to kick up the atmosphere. Or should that be a Brazilian wave?

24′
The linesman hasn't had the best of games so far. Two or three times now he has flagged someone as offside through the centre who's at least been a yard on. Come on linesman, earn your money, son!

22′
NEYYYMARRRRRR!!! HOW CLOSE WAS THAT?! The former Santos man twists and turns inside the area and pokes a strike at goal, but his attempt just strips the paint off the left-hand post! Unlucky!

20′
Ognenovski is lucky not to escape a yellow card as he goes in very late on Luis Gustavo just inside the Australia half. He escapes going into the book, but Brazil have the free kick in a very useful position.

18′
Bit of a quiet period in the match at the moment. Brazil looking extremely comfortably, and no sign of a response from the Socceroos.

16′
GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAL FOR BRAZIL!!! WAIT! NO! OFFSIDE!! Ramires looks to get in behind and lay the ball back across for Jo, who slots home, but Australia get the free kick as the Chelsea man was just ahead of play.

14′
What on Earth are the ball boys doing here? That's about three of four times now that we've found ourselves with more than one ball on the pitch!

12′
Scolari's men are oozing confidence here. Ramires, Gustavo, and Paulinho are all getting in on the act as they strut about the final third. Bit of a swagger about them at the moment.

10′
Australia would not doubt have planned to come out here and keep it tight for the majority of the match, but they certainly haven't done that, and Brazil have been all over them.

8′
Goal
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL FOR BRAZIL!!!! THE HOSTS STRIKE EARLY!!! Neymar clips a lovely cross to the back post and Bernand hits the post, but Jo follows up his team-mate's strike and blasts the ball into the empty net! 1-0!

7′
First glimpse of Neymar down that left flank. Barcelona's new signing takes on McGowan and performs a lovely stepover but his reversed cross back into the centre is easily cleared by Australia.

5′
Fantastic cross from Ramires! The Chelsea man gets in behind the Australia defence down the right-hand side and lashes a superb ball across the six yard box. No takers for Brazil though, and the visitors get the throw-in.

3′
Lovely start from the hosts. Brazil have relentlessly pressed Australia from the opening whistle and The Socceroos are having trouble getting out of their own half at the moment.

1′
We are under way in Brazil!

The national anthems sound out. Not much atmosphere though as the stadium is half-full!

The players have took to the field now, and we are a few moments from kick-off!

There is a couple of notable absences from both teams tonight. The Selecao are missing Dani Alves and Hulk, while the Socceroos are missing talisman, Tim Cahill.

Tonight, folks, we are witnessing two nations who have already qualified for the World Cup next year. Brazil qualify automatically as the host nation and Australia have progressed from the Asian group stage.

The Brazilian fans will be eagerly anticipating this one, and they will certainly be in a celebratory mood; It's Independance Day in the country today!
