The France captain wants Spurs to build on their good start in order to guarantee a top-four finish for the fourth consecutive year
Hugo Lloris wants Tottenham to build on their second best start to a Premier League season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won nine of their 12 games in the league but that is only good enough for fourth place at this point of the season.
Tottenham’s inconsistency has cost them shots at silverware over the past few years, losing out to Leicester City in the 2015-16 title race, as well as crashing out of both the Champions League and FA Cup last season after throwing away leads.
Goalkeeper Lloris is aware of what Spurs need to do, saying: "I think the key is to stay as consistent as possible all through the season.
"At the moment in the league we are in a good position. It is maybe one of our best starts of the last few years.
"We are in a good position and we need to carry on in the same way and try to improve the way we play.
"We are still competitive and we will be ready for top four challenge."
Lloris' comments come after team-mate Moussa Sissoko expressed his belief that Spurs are capable of challenging for the title this season.
Sissoko said: "Every season, this league becomes more difficult, but we have to stick together and play our game, and do the right things to try and hopefully get something at the end of the season.
"It won't be easy because Liverpool are here, Chelsea are here, Manchester City and Arsenal are here and it will be a tough battle.
"But we have the quality to answer them."
